PROGRAMS
The Carter Machinery Academy for Construction Related Trades is certified to operate by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV). Our programs are offered at our Central Virginia location.
ABOUT OUR ACADEMY
The Carter Machinery Academy for Construction Related Trades is operated by a private company whose primary function is serving as an authorized Caterpillar® dealership.
Using the industry expertise of our team of instructors and administrative staff, our faculty will provide students with top-notch classroom and hands-on instruction using a combination of in-classroom lab exercises and access to multiple Cat® heavy equipment machines, as well as our state-of-the-art Cat simulators for our operator course.

Students will have access to our faculty via phone and email at any time for questions and guidance, in addition to full access during class periods.

Carter Machinery has celebrated over 90 years in business as one of Caterpillar's most successful dealers, serving Virgina and eastern West Virginia historically, and expanded our territory in 2020 to include Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C.

Learning and development has always been a priority for our dealership - and even more so in recent years with the difficulty in recruiting for the skilled trades.

Our customers and industry partners rely heavily on Carter to provide training opportunities for their employees.  Becoming certified as a non-degree school provides our customer base with post-secondary education options to aid their recruitment and retention.
